Qiu Jin (1875-1907) was a turn of the 20th century Chinese feminist and revolutionary.

• 1904年5月的一天，秋瑾踏上了日本的國土，開始了她的留學生活。

Yī jiǔ líng sì nián wǔ yuè de yì tiān, Qiū Jǐn tà shàng le Rìběn de guótǔ, kāishǐ le tā de liúxué shēnghuó.

Lit: 1904 year 5 month's one day, Qiu Jin stepped on Japan's national soil, started her study abroad life.
In May of 1904, Qiu Jin stepped on Japanese soil and began her studies abroad.

• 秋瑾先學習日語，再進入女子學校學習。

Qiú Jǐn xiān xuéxí Rìyǔ, zài jìnrù nǚzi xuéxiào xuéxí.
Qiu Jin first learned Japanese, then continued her studies by enrolling at an all-girls school.

• 秋瑾：「我要努力學習，盡快吸收新的知識。」

Qiū Jǐn : "Wǒ yào nǔlì xuéxí, jìnkuài xīshōu xīn de zhīshí."
Qiu Jin said, "I must study hard and quickly absorb new knowledge."

• 除了專心讀書外，秋瑾還參加了很多活動。她與一班女留學生組織了「共愛會」。

Chúle zhuānxīn dúshū wài, Qiū Jǐn hái cānjiā lě hěn duō huódòng. Tā yǔ yì bān nǚ liúxuéshēng zǔzhí le "Gòngài Huì".
Besides focusing on her studies, Qiu Jin also joined many extracurricular activities. She and some other fellow female students organized the Gongai Society.

• 秋瑾：「女子也可以從軍和擔任救護的工作呀！」

Qiū Jǐn: "Nǚzi yě kěyǐ cóngjūn hé dānrèn jiùhù de gōngzuò yā!"
Qiu Jin said, "Women can also perform the duties of soldiers and medics."

• 其他女留學生齊聲說：「對！」

Qítā nǚ liúxuéshēng qí shēng shuō: "Duì!"
Other female students said altogether, "Right!"

• 後來，她又加入了一個叫「洪門天地會」，又叫「三合會」的反清組織，她還當上了「白扇」， 即是出謀獻策的軍師。

Hòulái，tā yòu jiārù le yī ge jiào 「Hóngmén Tiāndì Huì」，yòu jiào 「Sānhéhuì」 de fǎn Qīng zǔzhī，tā hái dāngshang le 「Báishàn」，jí shì chūmóuxiàncè de jūnshī.

Later on, she joined the Hongmen Tiandi Society, which is also called the Sanhe Society, an anti-Qing government organization. She even took the post of "Baishan", or military strategist.

• 由於帶來日本的生活費不夠用，秋瑾要回鄉籌錢。

Yóuyú dàilái rìběn dē shēnghuó fèi bù gòu yòng, qiū jǐn yào huí xiāng chōuqián.
Because the money she had brought to Japan was insufficient to sustain her living expenses, Qiu Jin returned to her hometown to raise money.

• 就在返回家鄉生活時，她加入了革命組織光復會。

Jiùzài fǎnhuí jiāxiāng zhēnghuó shí, tā jiārù lé gémìng zǔzhí Guāngfù Huì.
While living back home, she joined the revolutionary organization Guangfu Society.

• 後來，秋瑾再回到日本。有一天，她聽到一個消息。

Hòulái, Qiū Jǐn zài huí dào Rìběn. Yǒu yì tiān, tā tīng dào yì ge xiāoxí.
Later on, Qiu Jin once agained returned to Japan. One day, she heard some news.

• 秋瑾：「孫中山先生快要來日本演說？啊！真是太好了！我一定要參加。」

Qiū Jǐn: "Sūn Zhōngshān xiānsheng kuài yào lái Rìběn yǎnshuō? A! Zhēn shì tài hǎo le! Wǒ yìdìng yào cānjiā."
Qiu Jin said, "Dr. Sun Yat-Sen is about to come to Japan for a speech? Yeah! That's great! I must attend."

• 這一天，秋瑾在東京的一間飯店，和一千三百多名留學生，一起歡迎孫中山。

Zhè yì tiān, Qiū Jǐn zài Dōngjīn de yì jiān fàndiàn, hé yī qiān sān bǎi duō míng liúxuésheng, yìqǐ huānyíng Sūn Zhōngshān.
On that day (of the speech) at a hotel in Tokyo, Qiu Jin along with over 1300 Chinese (implied) foreign students welcomed Dr. Sun Yat-Sen.

• 會後，秋瑾心情很激動。

Huì hòu, Qiū Jǐn xīnqíng hěn jīdòng.
After the gathering, Qiu Jin became very excited.

• 秋瑾：「孫先生的演說真是精彩！我現在對推翻清政府充滿了信心和力量！」

Qiū Jǐn: "Sūn xiānsheng de yǎnshuō zhēn shì jīngcǎi! Wǒ xiànzài duì tuīfān Mǎnqīng zhèngfǔ chōngmǎn le xìnxīn hé lìliàng."
Qiu Jin said, "Dr. Sun's speech was really exciting! I now have faith and conviction that the Qing government will be overthrown.

• 會後，孫中山接見了她。

Huì hòu, Sūn Zhōngshān jiējiàn le tā.
After the gathering, Sun Yat-Sen met her.

• 孫中山：「我們要為革命而奮鬥！」

Sūn Zhōngshān: "Wǒmen yào wèi gémìng ér fèndòu!"
Sun Yat-Sen said, "We must struggle for the revolution."

• 後來，秋瑾加入了由孫中山領導的同盟會，為建設富強的新中國而努力！

Hòulái, Qiū Jǐn jiārù le yóu Sūn Zhōngshān lǐngdǎo de Tóngméng Huì, wèi jiànshè fùqiáng de xīn Zhōngduó ér nǔlì.
Later on, Qiu Jin joined the Tongmeng Society led by Sun Yat-Sen and through diligent effort, aimed to build a strong and prosperous new China.
