Underwater expedition (part 1)

Suīrán bǎohù shìfàn qū
Although (the maintenance of) the protective demonstration zone

yǐ yǒu le xiǎnzhù dé chéngxiào,
has had a remarkable outcome,

gòng shēngzǎo huílái le,
symbiotic algae has returned,

shānhú huó le qǐlái
the corals are alive again,

yúqún yě duō le
the fish has increased as well,

dàn hǎiyáng de fùyù bìngfēi yícùkějī
but the recovery of the oceans does not happen overnight.

Chíxù dé wéihù yǔ guānxīn cáishì zuì zhòngyào de gōngzuò.
The most important work, however, is continued care and protection.

Yèzhěmen jīhū tiāntiān xià hǎi shìchá.
Workers (that protect the coral reefs) perform underwater observations nearly everyday.

Yí pèngdào le hǎidǐ huánjìng yòu bèi pòhuài dè zhuangkuang fāshēng shí,
The moment they discover damage to the underwater environment,

biàn zhǔdòng hūpéngyǐnbàn
they will proactively mobilize friends and colleagues

zìdòngzìfā de
to voluntarily

tóu rù chīng lǐ yúwǎng de gōng zuò
immerse themselves into the work of clearing fishnets.
